week in iphone photos 29

Love the self timer on my new phone.  Kjella got some new boots in the mail and wore them in the house all day.  When it was time to go out she wore one new and one old boot.
I love getting updates from John when I'm at work, this was a big fort they made in the front room.  Getting her bounce on.  Mad monkey.
Kisses.  Sunday morning Costco trip.  Ferry boat ride.
Lunch.  A trip to Poulsbo.  Danish donuts!
Tea time with Amanda.  Kjells and E.  Group hugs with Oslo and Elbo.
The bumps a lot bigger after a day at my parents.  Early morning cereal.  My little artist.

jump planet

Last weekend was Kjella's friend Noah's birthday party.  It was at a bouncy place and we all had so much fun.  Kjella and I even went to another bouncy house place closer to us this week because she kept telling me she wanted to jump.  Both places are inside a big warehouse with no windows (awful lighting) and with a constantly moving object it's hard to get good photos.
But we did get this one of the three of us and I love it.

26 weeks

Pregnancy highlights

How far along: 26 weeks 5 days

Size of baby: An eggplant, about a pound and two-thirds and 14 inches head to heel.

Total weight gain: Oh goodness.  We spent Sunday at my parents where I ate and ate all day long.  They have a scale and I weighed in at 151 lbs.  Putting me at a gain of 17 lbs,  8 of them being in the last couple weeks!

Gender: Boy!

Movement: I love every flip and kick.

Sleep: Pretty good for me lately, aside from the early morning wake-ups from my little one.  I was so tired yesterday and very happy when John came home and made dinner while entertaining the girl.  I didn't get a nap but the break was really nice.

What I miss: I miss my pants fitting the way they should, getting tight.

Cravings: Still very thirsty.

Symptoms:  Heart burn has arrived.  I don't get it too bad, nothing a few tums can't curb, but always seem to get it at work or when we're on the go and I have nothing to help it.  John says it from drinking so much liquids.

Best moment this week:  Spending Sunday with my family.

things she says

After checking out the fish in the (stinky) Asian market Kjells says "Mama, this is a nice store."

We saw a little baby the other day in a parking lot, once we were in the car I asked Kjella "wasn't that baby cute?". She says ""that baby was not our's Mama".

"Mama, listen to me with your ears."

"I can't hear you anymore."  She wishes.

She fake yawns anytime we need to go somewhere and she doesn't want to get dressed.  "YAWN", complete with hand over mouth, "Kjella's tired, I need to take a nap."  The other distractor she'll use when trying to get out of getting dressed is "Kjella needs a break."  Lots of referring to herself in third person.  And getting her dressed has become quite the feat, girl is a homebody.

We have been hearing a lot of loud cawing.  "Caw!  Caw!  I ask her if that's the sound a bird makes and she tells me "no, birds say chirp, chirp".

After running circles around the house she stops dead in her tracks and says "oh no, I can't walk".  I ask her why and she tells me "my feet are too scared."

Standing next to my side of the bed at 4 am trying to wake me up I ask her if she'll lay down by me and she says "no thanks, I'm too busy."

While helping me unpack groceries she put a thing of strawberries in the fridge and saw that we still had some in another container.  She pulls them both out and says to me "oh no, there's two strawberries."  I started to say it was okay, that we'd eat them all and she cuts me off with "no, say sorry Mama."  Still not sure what I apologized for.

"I need to buy you a present Mama.  A pink heart and a painting and lots of diamonds."  She knows what I like!

fat tuesday

 Wish we were here,
eating beignets!

missing me

Over the past month or so John and Linda our sitter have mentioned that Kjella will ask for me in the evenings when I'm at work.  Kjells knows I'm at work and fine with me leaving but I guess at some point she thinks about it and realizes she misses me.  She has a photo of me (from High School!) in a little wallet my Mom gave her and likes to hold on to it.  One night I came home last week and she was holding it in her sleep.  While I'm gone she's all "I miss Mama" and as soon as I'm home she could care less.  She'll give me hugs but then goes about with whatever she's got going on.

She loves to go to my parents and play all day but at a certain point she's ready to come home.  When  she was over there last she found a picture with me in it and told my Mom she missed me.  I love being able to pick her up because she's usually happy to see me and tell me all about her day with B and E.  Last time she told me they got chocolate donuts....... they didn't.

In the evenings she's a total lover with lots of hugs and neck grabs and I do hear "I missed you Mama, I love you" and lately a "happy berfday" thrown in there.  I love that she's still a Mama's girl.

week in iphone photos 28

Sweets!  Brunch date.  The whole bed and she naps on the corner.
Naps on Mama.  Sleeping with her hands behind her back.  Daffodils make me happy.
The sensory box at preschool was filled with cocoa bean shell mulch (smelled soooo good) that mixed with a snotty nose means you leave school with a brown nose.  Mall play place fun.  Visiting Daisy's house.
All in my belly.  Airplane rides, first time she actually wanted to ride it while it was moving.  Beach nights.
a good life

happy berfday mama

Going on day 9 and according to Kjella it's still my birthday.  The first thing out of her mouth several mornings this week have been birthday wishes.  A girl from work got me a bunch of balloons and even though they are long gone Kjella reminds me daily "I got you balloons for your berfday."  Making Valentines?  Nope, she was making me birthday cards.  I love this sweet girl.

school night

Kjella's class had a get together last night and John was able to come!  He met us there and on the ride over I told Kjella that Papa was going to meet us at school her response, "no, Papa is at work."  She and I had made lemon muffins (her choice, even though she wouldn't try one) earlier in the day but when it came time to go she was not too happy to get dressed and go somewhere.  Once we were in the car she cheered up and had a really fun time playing with her friends.
big guy, little chair
Kjella hadn't napped all day and was pretty burnt out by the time they came back from the gym.  Once we were in the car she found a mini peppermint patty in her cup holder and asked me to open it, when I handed it back to her she said "thanks, now I feel better."  This girl cracks me up.

25 weeks

Pregnancy highlights

How far along: 25 weeks 4 days

Size of baby: A rutabaga (yum), 13.5 long and a pound and a half.

Total weight gain: I've heard lots of comments this week from friends and co-workers that my bump has really grown.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: Not so much movement this week, which always makes me nervous.  I'll lay on my belly and poke until I get a little something.  Very muted movement.

Sleep: Trying to remember to sleep on left side (for better blood flow) but can get sick of that pretty quick.

What I miss: I've been missing my medicine!  I ran out of my thyroid medication over a week ago and when I went to refill the prescription the pharmacy told me it had never been called in.  Fast forward to this week and I remember I never called my doctors office for the refill.  In the end my prescription had been called in over a month ago and the pharmacy missed it.

Cravings: Nothing this week.  My crazy thirst continues though.

Symptoms:  My gums have been extra sensitive lately.  I'm already an aggressive brusher so I've been seeing blood when rinsing.

Best moment this week: Valentines Day!  One of the busiest nights of the year at work and I love it.

lotta love

A special Valentine she got at school made by her Papa.
Balloons!  Kjella was shaking with excitement as the lady filled them all up and then clapped when I got them all in the car.
Kisses.  We met up with our baby friends for tea and lots of birthday goodies for me.
Candy.  A whole box of chocolate covered marzipan, he knows what I like.
And a sweet card on the counter when I got home from work. A great Valentines.

yellow slides

A little sun last week and we were off to the park.  Kjella made sure to tell me she wanted to go to the one with yellow slides this time, this girl had got opinions.
No rain boots required today!
She had so much fun talking to me from across the playground through these blue tubes.  I'd say "Hi Kjells, what are you doing?" and she'd yell back "just playin."
Kjella loved this girl and her boots.
She spent most of the time running around with a couple of older kids.  She was too shy to actually talk to them but through giggles they were able to figure out she liked to be chased and off they went.  Love how fast kids make friends.
